I was blessed to travel to Peru to attend the ordination of the community’s newest priest, Padre Augustine. It was a beautiful ceremony held at the main Cathedral in Chosica, presided over by Bishop Jorge Enrique Izaguirre Rafael, C.S.C. on December 9, 2025. All of the priests from Siervos de la Divina Misericordia were there, along with many other diocesan priests, and Brother Augustine’s family.
Brother Augustine joined the community in 2008. He exhibited great perseverance on his path to the priesthood, and there was great joy all around as the community, family, friends, fellow seminarians, and local parishioners celebrated this tremendous milestone.
I also attended the first Holy Mass celebrated by Padre Augustine the next day in the convent chapel. Please enjoy these photos of the ordination and his first Holy Mass. Most of all, please pray for Padre Augustine that he will always be a faithful and holy priest.
